St. Pius X strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Marquette Mustangs. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lancers also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

St. Pius X took Marquette into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-18, 25-27, 25-22, 17-15.

Kate Sherry paced St. Pius X's offense, picking up 43 kills. Sherry got some help from Elena Ruble and her 56 assists. Bennett Raterman controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Despite the loss, Marquette still got an impressive performance from Addison Twyman, who had five digs and two aces.

St. Pius X's record now sits at 8-0. As for Marquette, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, St. Pius X will take on Howell in a tournament on Friday. As for Marquette, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Parkway West on the 10th.
