Rio Grande City has gone 9-1 against Cigarroa recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Rio Grande City Rattlers will head out to face off against the Cigarroa Toros at 7:30 p.m. Cigarroa took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Rio Grande City, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, Rio Grande City greeted the New Year with with a 56-41 victory over Roma. Given the Rattlers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 455th, while the Gladiators are ranked 1170th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Cigarroa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They took a 64-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Palmview.

The win made it two in a row for Rio Grande City and bumps their season record up to 18-9. As for Cigarroa, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.

Rio Grande City came out on top in a nail-biter against Cigarroa in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, sneaking past 46-43. Does Rio Grande City have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cigarroa turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
