Recap: Phoenix Pirates vs. North Valley Knights
The Phoenix Pirates gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They walked away with a 62-53 victory over North Valley. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Phoenix also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2022.
Phoenix's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tobias Akpan, who scored 24 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. Another player making a difference was Brayden Decker, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
Phoenix's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for North Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Phoenix will head out on the road to face off against Yreka at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Valley, they will be playing at home against Hidden Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
