Baseball Recap: Hillside Comes Up Short

Hillside and West Essex squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Hillside had to settle for second. They came up short against the Knights, falling 10-0. The Comets were red-hot at the plate heading into the match (they scored no less than ten runs in the three games prior), but the Knights' pitchers proved too tough.

The defeat snapped Hillside's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-5 record. As for West Essex, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hillside will welcome Plainfield at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for West Essex, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Millburn at 4:00 p.m. on September 23, 2026.
