Football Recap: Killian Extends Winning Streak to Four

Killian strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past the South Dade Buccaneers 34-10. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 49-7 win the Buccaneers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Killian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kymani Corbett out in front who threw for 271 yards and two TDs while picking up 11.8 yards per attempt. Those 271 passing yards gave Corbett a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayron Bryant, who rushed for 121 yards and one touchdown on only 15 carries.

Another reason for the win was Killian's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. Artrell Vance was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up four himself.

Killian's record now sits at 3-0. As for South Dade, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Killian didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-21 loss against Palmetto on the 18th. As for South Dade, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Columbus at 6:00 p.m. on the 25th. This will be the Buccaneers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
