The Highland Rams are taking a road trip to square off against the Centennial Patriots at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Centennial took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Highland, who comes in off a win.
Highland lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Rocky Mountain, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's game. Highland blew past Rocky Mountain 14-5 on Friday. While the Rams didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-22), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Emerson Gifford was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Cedar Lacey, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and three runs.
Gifford wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Highland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Centennial faced Thunder Ridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Centennial lost 10-3 to Thunder Ridge. The defeat continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Titans: they've now lost eight in a row.
Cali Moorhouse ?26 was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.
Centennial's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Highland, their record is now 6-1.
Centennial's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Highland has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.3 hits per game. It's a different story for Centennial, though, as they've been averaging 8.9 hits. Given Highland's sizable advantage in that area, Centennial will need to find a way to close that gap.
Highland couldn't quite get it done against Centennial in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 as they fell 13-10. Can Highland avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
