Basketball Recap: Skyline Falls Short of Meridian in the Playoffs

Skyline and Meridian squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Skyline had to settle for second. They took a 41-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Meridian Mustangs. The match marked the Hawks' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meridian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nora Stufft out in front who posted eight points in addition to 15 boards and five steals. That's the most rebounds Stufft has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Charlotte Lieu, who had nine points along with six assists and five boards.

Skyline's loss dropped their record down to 17-6. As for Meridian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

Skyline does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Meridian, they will head out to challenge James Monroe at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. James Monroe will roll in looking for their 22nd straight victory, something Meridian surely won't give up without a fight.
