Baseball Recap: Santa Paula Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

While Santa Paula's victory against Hueneme wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Santa Paula never let Hueneme get on the board and left with a 1-0 win on Monday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-0 last Monday.

The result came thanks to Isaak Medina's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Santa Paula is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-8 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Santa Paula saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jesse Chavez, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Santa Paula is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. Hueneme now has a losing record of 6-7.
