Basketball Game Preview: Montverde Academy Gold Eagles vs. DME Academy Regional

The Montverde Academy Gold Eagles will square off against DME Academy Regional at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Montverde Academy Gold is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Florida's top teams: Potter's House Christian, who was ranked 13th at the time (Montverde Academy Gold was ranked tenth). Montverde Academy Gold fell just short of Potter's House Christian by a score of 39-37 on Tuesday. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask DME Academy Regional). They walked away with a 66-56 victory over Jordan Christian Prep on Wednesday.

DME Academy Regional found their leader in sophomore Leslie Mwenyemali, who went 7 for 11 on her way to 15 points in addition to six rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Gigi Niegreios, who went 6 of 12 en route to 17 points.

The win got DME Academy Regional back to even at 7-7. As for Montverde Academy Gold, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 12-4.
