Softball Game Preview: Concord Academy Eagles vs. Hickory Grove Christian Lions

For the second straight game, Concord Academy will face off against Hickory Grove Christian. The Eagles will challenge the Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

Concord Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 13-7 margin over Hickory Grove Christian on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Caisyn Berg was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Concord Academy got a massive performance out of Nevaeh Carmean, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Addison Carmean, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
