Volleyball Recap: Sutton Mustangs vs. St. Paul Wildcats

Sutton suffered their biggest loss since October 8, 2024 on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the St. Paul Wildcats. If the Mustangs were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Wildcats when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-21, 25-9.

Katie Baldwin paced Sutton's offense, picking up six kills. Baldwin got some help from Avery Smith and her nine assists.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Paul to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zaya Lewis, who had 32 assists and seven digs. Lewis is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 30 every time she's taken the court this season. Keislyn Poss was another key player, getting 20 digs and one assist.

Sutton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for St. Paul, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Sutton will venture away from home to face off against H&H at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs are facing the Bearcats at the right time seeing as the Bearcats are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for St. Paul, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ravenna on Tuesday.
