Baseball Recap: Northwest Christian Has No Trouble Against Rainier Christian

Northwest Christian lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Rainier Christian, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's game. Northwest Christian blew past Rainier Christian 19-6 on Thursday. Considering the Wolverines have won three matches by more than 11 runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Travis Elmore made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over 4.1 innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Marshall Guyer, who went 3-for-4 with eight RBI, two doubles, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. Another player making a difference was Jadon Dillingham, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Northwest Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .658. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rainier Christian only posted an OBP of .480.

Northwest Christian's record is now 3-1.

Northwest Christian will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Ocosta at 4:00 p.m. on April 7. Rainier Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
