Basketball Recap: Sandhills Valley Mavericks vs. South Loup
Sandhills Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 28th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were one points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 36-35 heartbreaker at the hands of South Loup. The Mavericks lost against South Loup in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 58-28 score last time.
Shelby Layher and Briley Kramer certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Layher dropped a double-double on 11 points and 16 boards, while Kramer posted seven points along with ten boards and four steals.
