Baseball Recap: Delaware Valley Beats Wallenpaupack Area for Their Fifth Straight Win

Delaware Valley extended their winning streak to five on Friday, bumping their season record up to 6-6 in the process. They came out on top against the Wallenpaupack Area Buckhorns by a score of 8-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-6 on Wednesday.

Tim Jason made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed seven innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

In other batting news, Delaware Valley let Londyn Hernandez and Frank Pedone run wild. Hernandez went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Pedone went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave Hernandez a new career-high. Liam Onofry was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Delaware Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

As for Wallenpaupack Area, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. Their defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

On Wallenpaupack Area's side, JJ Blaum was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Logan Caruso, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.
