Softball Recap: South River Extends Winning Streak to Three

South River took a 13-run loss the last time they faced off against Crofton, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Seahawks narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Crofton 5-3. Winning may never get old, but the Seahawks sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Addie Binko spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits.

At the plate, Avery Ford was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one run. CJ Harris was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

South River's win bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Crofton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. South River will challenge rival Northeast at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Crofton is set to face off against their familiar foe Meade on Friday.
