Recap: Hartsville Red Foxes vs. South Florence Bruins
The Hartsville Red Foxes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 77-62 to South Florence. While losing is never fun, Hartsville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 168th, while South Florence is ranked 42nd).
Hartsville lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tyriq Fisher, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for him. Braden Crawley was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Jamarie Brown continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for South Florence, scoring 29 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The matchup was Brown's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Robinson, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Hartsville's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-9. As for South Florence, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Hartsville will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Lee Central at 1:00 p.m. on January 6th. Hopefully Lee Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday. South Florence won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Marion at 7:00 p.m. on January 6th. Marion is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
