Baseball Game Preview: Rio Linda Knights vs. Inderkum Tigers

Rio Linda and Inderkum are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2015, but likely not for long. The Rio Linda Knights will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Inderkum Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Rio Linda will be strutting in after a win while Inderkum will be coming in after a loss.

Rio Linda is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Friday. They blew past River Valley 8-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Knights have posted since April 12, 2024.

Adam Vaughn and Ayden Crawford made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Vaughn tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Crawford tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. At the plate, Vaughn scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Crawford went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carlos Martinez, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. DJ Lloyd was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Inderkum faced off against Windsor on Saturday. Inderkum lost 8-1 to Windsor.

Inderkum saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aidan Gomez, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Everything went Rio Linda's way against Inderkum in their previous matchup back in March of 2018, as Rio Linda made off with a 12-5 win. Does Rio Linda have another victory up their sleeve, or will Inderkum turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
