The Springfield Spartans will take on the Field Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Springfield is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.

On Friday, Springfield beat Rootstown 7-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

Lilli Stokes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kendall Crytzer and Melaena Martin did most of the damage at the plate: Crytzer scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Martin went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That's the most hits Martin has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzy Potter, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Field got the win against Norton on Thursday by a conclusive 18-1. The victory continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won seven in a row.

Field pushed their record up to 2-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Springfield, their record now sits at 5-2.

Springfield might still be hurting after the 13-6 loss they got from Field in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
