Volleyball Recap: Cheney Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Cheney dropped to 15-7 on Saturday, ending the team's six-match streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Trinity Academy Knights by a score of 2-1. The Cardinals were not able to make up for their defeat to the Knights from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Cheney's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kenadi Thome, who had 26 digs and one assist, and Lucy Fouquet, who had 17 digs. Fouquet has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last seven times she's played.

As for Trinity Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since September 9th.

Ava Deutsch had a dynamite game, getting 18 digs and three aces. That's the most digs she has posted over her last eight matches.

Cheney didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Wellington on the 27th. As for Trinity Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Hesston on the 27th.
