Organ Mountain had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.8 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Thursday. They secured a 54-48 W over the Centennial Hawks. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Hawks are ranked 49th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ray Venegas had an outrageously good game as he went 6 for 15 on his way to 18 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Emmitt McDaniel, who posted nine points and three steals.

Organ Mountain has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Centennial, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.
