Softball Preview: Timpview Thunderbirds vs. Salem Hills Skyhawks

The Timpview Thunderbirds will head out on the road to take on the Salem Hills Skyhawks at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Timpview is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.

Timpview scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 14-8 margin over Providence Hall. The victory was just what Timpview needed coming off of a 15-0 loss in their prior game.

Aleiah Branin was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with a home run, three stolen bases, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Ellee Payne, who scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Salem Hills faced Springville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Salem Hills' tough 13-4 defeat to Springville might stick with them for a while.

Camryn Guest was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmery Wilson, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a double.

Timpview made their fans wait, but they earned their first win of the season to make their record 1-5. As for Salem Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
