Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Algonac). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Imlay City Spartans an 11-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Muskrats haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Jaycee Reams was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Reams was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season.
In other batting news, Michael Kenel was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those RBI were her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Reams, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Algonac was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .458. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in five consecutive matches.
