Volleyball Recap: Mattoon Takes a Loss

Mattoon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Triad Knights. The Greenwave were not able to make up for their defeat to the Knights from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Ava Larson paced Mattoon's offense, picking up eight kills. Larson got some help from Khloe Hall and her 18 assists. Marissa Waggle controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Mattoon's loss dropped their record down to 15-21. As for Triad, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 21-15.

Mattoon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Triad, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Glenwood on the 30th.
