Basketball Recap: Farwell Comes Up Short

Farwell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 37th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Standish-Sterling Panthers, falling 56-13. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 744th, while the Panthers are ranked 100th).

Farwell's loss dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Standish-Sterling, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-2.

Farwell will venture away from home to challenge Meridian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meridian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Standish-Sterling, they will be playing at home against Bullock Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Standish-Sterling's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while Bullock Creek has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
