Flag Football Recap: Pioneer's Run of Three Straight Victories Now Over

After flying high against Sacramento two weeks ago, Pioneer came back down to earth. The Patriots fell 19-14 to the Vanden Vikings on Monday. The Patriots were not able to make up for their loss to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Vanden's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amya Evans, who picked up 66 receiving yards and a pair of scores, and also rushed for 35 yards. Evans didn't just play on offense: she also picked up a sack, made three total tackles, and defended two passes. Adayah Holly was another key back, rushing for 57 yards and one TD on only six carries.

With the defeat, Pioneer broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-4. As for Vanden, their record is now 10-5.

Pioneer didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 18-12 loss against Wood on the 24th. As for Vanden, they have also already played their next contest, a 12-6 win against Rodriguez on the 24th.
