Baseball Recap: Springstead Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Springstead). They blew past the Lecanto Panthers 15-1 on Friday. With that victory, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 7.4 runs per game.

Springstead got a massive performance out of Nathan Marsh, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2. Those three runs gave Marsh a new career-high. Tanner Henrickson was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Springstead always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lecanto only posted an OBP of .304.

The win (which was Springstead's third in a row) raised their record to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs over those games. As for Lecanto, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Coming up, Springstead will face off against Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Central has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Lecanto, they will challenge Citrus at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
