Baseball Game Preview: Springfield Wildcats vs. Northmont Thunderbolts

The Springfield Wildcats will head out to face off against the Northmont Thunderbolts at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses apiece.

Springfield came up short against Centerville on Wednesday, falling 13-3.

Springfield saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elijah Cave, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Cave hit this season.

Meanwhile, Northmont lost 13-2 to Beavercreek on Wednesday.

Northmont's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6-1. As for Springfield, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5-1.

Springfield couldn't quite finish off Northmont when the teams last played back in May of 2024 and fell 14-12. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
