Basketball Game Preview: Morgan Trojans vs. North Summit Braves

Morgan and North Summit are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2016, but not for long. The Trojans will challenge the Braves at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Morgan is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.5 points per game this season.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Morgan turned things around against Roy on Tuesday. They walked away with a 54-41 victory over the Royals.

Morgan relied on the efforts of Zoe Rockenfield, who almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine boards, and Makayla Williams, who posted 19 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. With that strong performance, Rockenfield is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamry Wardell, who put up five points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for North Summit against Juab on Tuesday as the team secured a 52-18 win. The Braves haven't had any issues with the Wasps recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Morgan's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for North Summit, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.

Morgan came out on top in a nail-biter against North Summit when the teams last played back in December of 2024, sneaking past 68-65. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Braves' Hayzlyn Murdock, who dropped a double-double with 31 points and 14 boards.
