Football Recap: Plain Dealing Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Plain Dealing challenged Lincoln Prep on Friday. The Lions were dealt a 49-0 loss at the hands of the Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 40-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2024.

Lincoln Prep found their leader in sophomore Jabari Levingston, who rushed for 127 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries, and also picked up 32 receiving yards. Levingston has become a key player for the Panthers: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Zion Hicks, who rushed for 59 yards.

Plain Dealing's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Lincoln Prep, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-5.

Coming up, Plain Dealing will host Pickering at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lincoln Prep, they will face off against Arcadia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will be up against the Hornets' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.56 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
