Softball Recap: Salisbury Township Triumphs

Salisbury Township proved they can win big on Monday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Saucon Valley Panthers 4-2. That's more bragging rights for the Falcons, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Tessa Kemmerer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

Salisbury Township has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-9-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Saucon Valley, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-8.

Coincidentally, Salisbury Township and Saucon Valley will both be playing Southern Lehigh the next time they take the field. The Falcons will host the Spartans at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Panthers will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
