Basketball Recap: Johnson County Sports Association Beats Three Way for Their Third Straight Win

Johnson County Sports Association waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against Three Way by a score of 36-27. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 55-28 victory Three Way walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2020.

Johnson County Sports Association's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anna Shepard, who posted 16 points in addition to four blocks and three steals. Those four blocks gave Shepard a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lilliana Bertram, who had no points along with 12 rebounds, six steals, and four blocks.

Johnson County Sports Association smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 7.4 offensive rebounds per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 14.2.

Johnson County Sports Association's victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Three Way, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Johnson County Sports Association and UME Preparatory Academy will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Three Way, they will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Bluff Dale at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give Three Way their first taste of in-conference action this season.
