Basketball Game Preview: Fairview Eagles vs. West Carter Comets

Fairview is 1-7 against West Carter since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Fairview Eagles will host the West Carter Comets at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Fairview is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Hannan 54-19 on Monday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Eagles' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 251st in Kentucky, while the Wildcats are ranked 125th in West Virginia).

Meanwhile, West Carter didn't have too much trouble with Powell County on Thursday as they won 45-29. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Comets.

Fairview's win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-18. As for West Carter, their victory bumped their record up to 9-13.

Fairview was dealt a bruising 56-10 defeat at the hands of West Carter in their previous matchup back in January. Can Fairview avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
