Basketball Game Preview: Clarksburg Coyotes vs. Urbana Hawks + How To Watch

The Clarksburg Coyotes will face off against the Urbana Hawks at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Clarksburg is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Bethesda-Chevy Chase on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Coyotes lost 81-60 to the Barons. The Coyotes were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-23.

Despite the loss, Clarksburg got top-tier performance from Rahul Sanon, who shot 60% from the field en route to 22 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of DB Hamlett, who went 6-for-12 on his way to 15 points.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Urbana and Westminster, and Westminster kept the tradition alive. The Hawks fell just short of the Owls by a score of 62-60 on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (58), the Hawks still had to take the loss.

Clarksburg will have to contain Jaxson Howington as he made an impact in Urbana's last game. He almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine boards. Howington is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Brayden Wang was another key player, shooting 60% from the field to rack up 14 points and seven rebounds.

Urbana's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Clarksburg, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 0-2.

Clarksburg came up short against Urbana in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 61-57. Can the Coyotes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
