Recap: Arcadia/Loup City Rebels vs. Ansley/Litchfield Spartans
The Arcadia/Loup City Rebels's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They took a serious blow against Ansley/Litchfield, falling 50-23. While losing is never fun, Arcadia/Loup City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while Ansley/Litchfield is ranked 45th).
Arcadia/Loup City lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Eli Jaixen, who scored nine points. Another player making a difference was Max Lewandowski, who scored five points along with nine rebounds.
Arcadia/Loup City has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Ansley/Litchfield, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arcadia/Loup City will take on Centura at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Arcadia/Loup City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday. Ansley/Litchfield's road trip will continue as they head out to face Anselmo-Merna at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. Anselmo-Merna is coming into the contest with eight straight losses at home, meaning Ansley/Litchfield will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win.
