Basketball Game Preview: Foard Tigers vs. East Lincoln Mustangs

Foard is 0-7 against East Lincoln since January of 2022 but things could change on Thursday. The Foard Tigers will host the East Lincoln Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Foard is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Tuesday. They took a 67-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Statesville. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 598th, while the Greyhounds are ranked 204th).

Meanwhile, East Lincoln had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 93-50 victory over the Warriors. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 21 points or more this season.

Foard's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for East Lincoln, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3.

Foard took a serious blow against East Lincoln in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 75-43. Can Foard avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
