Shawnee Mission Northwest won the last time they faced Ottawa and things went their way on Saturday too. The Cougars sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Cyclones. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Shawnee Mission Northwest who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 9-25, 25-16.

Shawnee Mission Northwest's victory bumped their record up to 12-4-1. As for Ottawa, their defeat ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-10.

Coincidentally, Shawnee Mission Northwest and Ottawa will both be playing Leavenworth the next time they take the court. The Cyclones will host the PIONEERS at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Cougars will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
