Soccer Game Preview: Rio Hondo Prep vs. Polytechnic

The Rio Hondo Prep Kares will face off against the Polytechnic Panthers at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Rio Hondo Prep played in-conference for the first time on Wednesday and got just the result they were looking for. They were the clear victors by a 5-1 margin over EF Academy. The result was nothing new for Rio Hondo Prep, who have now won four matches by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit EF Academy with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Easton Jara (2), Jayce Frary, Dominic Zazueta, and Yanick Diaz.

Meanwhile, Polytechnic's game on Wednesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Flintridge Prep by a score of 3-1.

Polytechnic pushed their record up to 6-4-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those five contests. As for Rio Hondo Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2-1.
