Soccer Game Preview: Durant vs. Sickles

The Durant Cougars will challenge the Sickles Gryphons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Durant has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 17 goals over their last three games.

Durant's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 5-0 margin over Strawberry Crest. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by three goals or more this season.

Mykala Ulrich and Addison Kapustiak scored all five of Durant's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 19 goals.

Meanwhile, Sickles fell victim to Montverde Academy and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, the Gryphons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Eagles are ranked first).

Durant has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 32 goals over those seven matches. As for Sickles, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-2-5.
