Basketball Recap: Kellogg Drops Highest Score of Season Against Watervliet

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kellogg). They came out on top against Watervliet by a score of 53-45 on Tuesday. This was payback for Kellogg, who suffered a 50-43 loss the last time these two teams met.

Despite the defeat, Watervliet saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Daijahnae Hatcher dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 boards. Those 14 points gave Hatcher a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Bultema, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine rebounds.

Kellogg's win bumped their record up to 4-13. As for Watervliet, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Kellogg wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 40-31 loss against Martin on the 14th. As for Watervliet, they have also already played their next match, a 28-27 victory against New Buffalo on the 12th.
