Basketball Recap: Academy of Science and Innovation Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

Academy of Science and Innovation had won four straight home games and Maiara Rodriguez did her part to make it five on Tuesday. The Academy of Science and Innovation Ravens blew past Achievement First 53-5 thanks in part to Rodriguez, who went 8 of 20 en route to 19 points and six steals. She has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last six times she's played.

Another player making a difference was Kaylie Vaccarro, who posted four points. She also posted a block, marking her first of the season.

Academy of Science and Innovation is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.7 points per game. As for Achievement First, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Academy of Science and Innovation Ravens face off against the Civic Leadership Eagles at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Achievement First has already played their next game, a 40-9 defeat against Parish Hill on the 22nd.
