Football Game Preview: Towers Titans vs. Putnam County War Eagles + How To Watch

The Towers Titans will head out on the road to take on the Putnam County War Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Towers' offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Lamar County on Friday. They were dealt a 27-0 defeat at the hands of the Trojans. Considering the last time the Titans couldn't score was back in August, the team can't take the result too hard.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Putnam County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Utopian Academy for the Arts a 48-0 shutout on Friday. Considering the War Eagles have won three matchups by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Towers better keep an eye on Ethan Whatley. He was instrumental in Putnam County's win, rushing for 78 yards and five touchdowns on only seven carries.

Putnam County is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 30.0 points over those games. As for Towers, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

Towers was dealt a bruising 48-14 loss at the hands of Putnam County in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Titans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
