Baseball Recap: West Comes Up Short

West lost against Foothill last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Vikings lost 13-1 to the Trojans. The game snapped a strange streak: the last five times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

West saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jesse Benitez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

West dropped their record down to 4-11 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Foothill, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-5.

Coming up, West will be taking part in a tournament against Orange Cove at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday. As for Foothill, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Del Oro at 4:00 p.m. on the 22nd. The Trojans are facing the Suns at the right time seeing as the Suns are stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
