Volleyball Recap: Galena Park Yellowjackets vs. Ball Tornadoes

Galena Park lost against Ball back in August, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Galena Park Yellowjackets came up short against the Ball Tornadoes, falling 3-0. The shutout was out of character for the Yellowjackets seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in August.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-13, 25-13.

Emma Colon paced Galena Park's offense, picking up seven kills. Colon got some help from Abigail Berrones and her nine assists. Camila Esquivel and Lily Lopez kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Ball had a senior duo take command as Erin Clore had 12 digs and three aces and Brianna Fortini had five aces and three digs. The dominant performance gave Fortini a new career-high in aces.

Galena Park is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 32-8. As for Ball, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-20 record this season.

Galena Park wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Randle on the 5th. Ball has also already played their next game, a 3-1 win against West Brook on the 5th.
