Basketball Recap: Walter Johnson Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Walter Johnson had won two straight games and Kendall Alexander did her part to make it three on Friday. The Walter Johnson Wildcats took down the Damascus Hornets 60-44 thanks in part to Alexander, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards. Alexander is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least four every time she's taken the court this season.

Elizabeth Martin was another key player, going 6 of 9 on her way to 14 points. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Walter Johnson's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. As for Damascus, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Walter Johnson will host Gaithersburg at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Gaithersburg will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Walter Johnson surely won't give up without a fight. As for Damascus, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Sherwood at 7:15 p.m.
