Softball Recap: Wayne Extends Winning Streak to Three

Wayne entered their tilt with Ripley on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Vikings 9-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-3 on April 1st.

Alexa Bishop was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Kylee Copley was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Wayne was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.

Wayne pushed their record up to 7-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Ripley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15.

Coming up, Wayne will face off against Fairland at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pioneers are facing the Dragons at the right time seeing as the Dragons are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Ripley, they will welcome Wahama at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the White Falcons have averaged an impressive 9.9 runs per game this season.
