Football Recap: Johnson City Comes Up Short

Something's probably wrong if your squad accumulates more yards in penalties than offense, a fact Johnson City just learned the hard way. They were beaten by the Thorndale Bulldogs 47-0 on Thursday. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.

Wyatt Lorenzen threw for 36 yards on five of 12 attempts.

Hudson Thigpen had an outrageously good game for Thorndale as he rushed for 310 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.9 yards per carry.

Johnson City's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Thorndale, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Johnson City will face off against Mason at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st. As for Thorndale, they will challenge Harper at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st. The Bulldogs will be up against the Longhorns' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.86 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
