Softball Recap: Smithville Comes Up Short

Smithville lost against Hillsdale back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Smithies came up short against the Falcons, falling 14-1. The match marked the Smithies' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Smithville saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caitlin Walsh-Knouff, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Smithville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Hillsdale, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

While Smithville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
