Basketball Recap: Springfield Catholic Comes Up Short

Springfield Catholic lost against Marshfield back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The match between the Springfield Catholic Fighting Irish and the Marshfield Bluejays didn't end well, with the Springfield Catholic Fighting Irish falling 53-38. While losing is never fun, the Fighting Irish can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while the Bluejays are ranked 50th).

This is the second loss in a row for Springfield Catholic and nudges their season record down to 7-7. As for Marshfield, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Springfield Catholic is taking a road trip to take on Monett at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Marshfield, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 42-26 defeat against Fair Grove on the 9th.
