Volleyball Recap: Chetek-Weyerhaeuser Bulldogs vs. Boyceville Bulldogs
Chetek-Weyerhaeuser lost against Boyceville back in August of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Chetek-Weyerhaeuser fell 3-1 to Boyceville. While Chetek-Weyerhaeuser didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating Boyceville 25-17 in the first set.
Chetek-Weyerhaeuser started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-12.
Ella Turauski paced Chetek-Weyerhaeuser's offense, picking up 12 kills. Turauski got some help from Calli Johnson and her 22 assists. Turauski was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.
Boyceville was led to victory by Gretta Guy and Mercedes Barstad. Guy had 41 assists and eight digs, while Barstad had 12 digs and seven aces. Those seven aces gave Barstad a new career-high.
Chetek-Weyerhaeuser has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season. As for Boyceville, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
