Football Recap: Cedartown Starts Season with Loss at Home + How To Watch

Cedartown unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Rockmart Yellowjackets on Friday, falling 56-7. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellowjackets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Despite the loss, Cedartown still got an impressive performance from Jakobe Dorsey, who rushed for 80 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries.

Rockmart found their leader in freshman Tucker Parson, who threw for 212 yards and four TDs on only 13 passes. Nate Davis helped Parson out on the ground, picking up 63 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 55 yards.

Cedartown didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 48-13 win against Berkmar on the 22nd. As for Rockmart, they have also already played their next match, a 39-14 defeat against Cartersville on the 22nd.
